Abstract:Objective ToinvestigatetherelationshipbetweentheexpressionofEotaxinandsuppressorofcytokine signaling3(SOCS3)innasalmucosatissuesandpostoperativerecurrenceinpatientswithchronicrhinosinusitis (CRS). Methods Atotalof126patientswithCRStreatedinQingyangPeople'sHospitalfrom May2020toMay2023wereselected, allofwhomunderwentnasalendoscopicsurgery.Thepatientswerefollowedupfor1yearaftersurgerytoevaluatewhether recurrenceoccurred.Thepatientsweredividedintoarecurrencegroup(n=32)andanon-recurrencegroup(n=88)basedon whethertherewasarecurrence.Multivariatelogisticregressionanalysiswasusedtoidentifytheriskfactorsforpostoperative recurrenceinCRSpatients.Receiveroperatingcharacteristic(ROC)curveswereplottedtoevaluatethevalueofEotaxinand SOCS3expressionlevelsinpredictingpostoperativerecurrenceinCRSpatients.Results Thereweresignificantdifferencesin theproportionofpatientswithsmokinghistory,nasalpolyps,asthma,allergicfactors,andpostoperativeinfections,aswell asintheexpressionlevelsofEotaxinandSOCS3betweenthetwogroups(P<0.05).Therewasnostatisticallysignificant differenceintheexpressionlevelsofEotaxinandSOCS3betweenpatientswithandwithoutnasalpolypsintherecurrence group (P >0.05). Multivariatelogisticregression analysisshowedthat CRS with nasalpolyps,allergicfactors, postoperativeinfections,andtheexpressionlevelsofEotaxinandSOCS3wereriskfactorsforpostoperativerecurrencein CRSpatients(P<0.05).ROCcurveanalysisshowedthatthecombineddetectionofEotaxinandSOCS3resultedinanarea undertheROCcurve(AUC)of0.900,withasensitivityof84.37% andaspecificityof86.36%.Conclusion CRSwith nasalpolyps,allergicfactors,postoperativeinfections,andtheexpressionlevelsofEotaxinandSOCS3areriskfactorsfor postoperativerecurrenceinpatientswithCRS.ThecombineddetectionofEotaxinandSOCS3expressionlevelshashigh predictiveefficacyforpostoperativerecurrenceofCRS.
