Abstract:Objective Toexplorethemediatingroleofdiseaseperceptionandmaladaptivecognitiveemotionregulation strategiesbetweensocialconstraintsandfearofcancerrecurrence(FCR)inpatientsaftercolorectalcancer(CRC)surgery. Methods From MarchtoAugust2024,aconveniencesamplingmethodwasusedtoselect290CRCpatientsaftersurgery fromthreetertiaryhospitalsinChengduastheresearchsubjects.Generalinformationquestionnaire,simplifiedFearof DiseaseProgressionScale,SocialConstraintsScale,simplified DiseasePerception Questionnaire,andCognitiveEmotion RegulationStrategy Questionnaire were usedforthesurvey.Results Thesurvey resultsshowedthat55.86% of postoperativepatientsexhibitedclinicallysignificantFCR.Inthetotaleffectofsocialconstraintsonfearofrecurrence,direct effectaccountedfor39.88%.Furthermediationanalysisrevealedthatdiseaseperception(accountingfor38.89% ofthetotal effect)andmaladaptivecognitiveemotionregulationstrategies(accountingfor9.52% ofthetotaldffect)playedindependent mediatingroles,andthetwoformedachain-mediationeffect.Conclusion SocialconstraintsindirectlyaffectFCRthroughthe chain-mediationmechanismofdiseaseperceptionactingonmaladaptivecognitiveemotionregulationstrategy.
